Sherwood Farm

ok i'm finally doing the farm post ...if you have been reading or if i've talked to you in the last month you all know about this little jewel i just found thanks to jess and one of her friends....Sherwood farm in easton. I'm still so amazed that i drove by this little farm a million times and never bothered to stop...if you live near easton or have taken a trip down to silvermans you probably noticed it driving by too...well next time stop! i swear you will thank me...i am utterly in love with this farm and each time i go i fall deeper and deeper in love with it. First off the food...oh the food...its amazing...we get our milk there...it delicious and comes in freakin glass bottles its adorable..and the bread its so good its a bit pricey at $7.99 a loaf but its worth every penny...my kid is the pickiest eater and eats half the loaf himself! and usually when you get fresh bread it dries out so fast this doesn't ...jess said its cause theres flax seed in it which keeps it moist ...just the smell of it makes my mouth water....ok they have bacon and sausage all natural yumminess...cheese, yogurt, veggies, herbs, fruit, honey and they even make fresh mozzarella! its awesome! then the second best part is the atmosphere its warm and inviting... you can go right up and look at all the food thats growing , pet the animals and they have a swing set which is great so when we go get milk miles plays outside....i just love this farm and i love that miles will have this experience so he understands what fresh locally farmed food is like...its kinda magical to have that place so close by where he can learn and play and when i say its from the farm he will actually try the new thing im feeding him that week....check out there website and go! support your local farmer! feed your kids farm fresh food and give them this experience too! http://www.sherwoodfarm.org/index.html

these are pictures from 3 different trips to the farm....

                                                                           the store

this is from our first trip

miles and madeline seeing the animals for the first time!
the farmers daughter came out with day old bread to feed the animals...she let all the kids feed the animals and themselves with the bread.....and i think they ate as much as they fed ....

at first miles would take the whole loaf and try to feed it to the animals...then the farmers daughter showed him how to tear off a piece...she was so sweet and patient with the kids....

miles literally pulled this piece out of the baby cows mouth and started eating it! disgusting? yes very but i guess you have to live and learn!

                                                              chasin the chicken.......
                                                                         shopping
so i have so many pictures im gonna split them up into two posts .....so this is the end of part 1..xoxoxotrash
