I hope everyone had a great easter weekend! we were crazy! saturday we had jess, dan and miss madeline over for some easter activities. my family is so big that we dont all get together anymore for holidays...its sad but theres no way we would all fit in one space...so since we dont get to see madeline i decided to throw a mini easter party just for our two little families.....we had an easter egg hunt in the back yard, we tried to do an easter craft...tried..it didnt really work out as planned but we did get a good laugh out of it! and of course we colored eggs..which again the kids weren't too in to but we tried and i guess thats all that matters...we ate cupcakes and miles had his first m &m which he loved!!! all in all it was a really great day! easter sunday was so busy we went to my sisters at 930 am for easter breakfast which i don't think many people do but its tradition in my family...we ate so much yummy food and miles did another egg hunt...he wasn't too in to it but had a blast running around outside...then we came home for a short nap and then off to my sister in laws for easter dinner...miles and amber played the day away ...they had a wagon ride..swung on swings and just enjoyed the day....watching the two of them warmed my heart and while i sat in the grass watching them ride in the wagon together i tried to memorize that moment...the two of them so small and happy with the warm sun shining down on their sweet faces...it was a beautiful moment that i'll hold close in my heart....we are so lucky to have amber and madeline to grow up with miles ...i feel so blessed to have so many wonderful babies in my life....also a new wonderful baby michael who i stuck in an easter basket for a quick photo op! he is so mini and yummy i can't wait til michael and miles can play together ...we are really lucky...so i guess easter was great and made me really appreciate what and who we have in our lives....heres what we did in pictures....

madeline kept saying "choc"
i had two golden eggs which i put a dollar in..the kids could care less they just wanted the candy!
so i thought this craft would be easy enough for them but it didnt really work out too well...i wanted them to glue the cotton balls on the bunny cutout but the cotton balls stuck to everything and as soon as one was down theyd rip it right off....
they are just too little and it was the first time they used glue ...they didnt get it at all...but it was funny to watch them!
miles really hated the cotton balls...and he was so upset when pieces of cotton stuck to his fingers...he was totally disgusted by them...
hes crying cause theres cotton on his fingers..lol im mean i laughed!
jess ended up grabbing a handful of cotton balls and piling them on top and madeline patted them down which actually worked!
then we colored eggs...we gave the kids crayons/markers and stickers then let them dunk it in the dye...

i also made my own egg dye this year...i used red beets, red cabbage (which turns eggs blue) and yellow onion peels...i tried making green from spinach and basil but it didnt work...
they all came out blotchy but still really pretty
we spent the rest of the day just playing with the kids...they were all hyper and cranky from too much fun and sugar!
i had to post this shot because madelines little fingers are sticking out and they are all painted for easter! so cute!
we had lots and lots of fun saturday...and miles passed out early...which was really nice so we could get ready for easter!
